Privacy & cookies.

Here is what the game uses to run rooms, measure visits, and show an ad on the rules guide.

Game rooms and wordlists

When you join a room, Relay! stores the name you choose, your avatar, team, room settings, and game progress in Supabase so other players in that room can see the shared game. Your browser keeps a room token in session storage so you can take actions as your player. Players in the room can see your chosen name and avatar. A room code or invite link lets someone join the room.

If you submit a community wordlist, we store its title, description, words, and the author name you enter. Named admins review submissions. Approved lists and their author names are visible to other visitors. Please avoid putting personal information in a player name or wordlist.

Browser storage

Relay! saves your sound on/off preference in local storage and your current room token in session storage. These help the game remember your settings and player session in your browser. You can clear them through your browser settings.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand visits and improve the site. Page view events are sent without room codes or other URL query parameters. Google may use cookies or similar technology to measure site use. Learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense for one display ad on the public rules guide. The game room and active gameplay do not contain this ad placement. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can manage personalized ads in Google Ad Settings and learn about choices from the Digital Advertising Alliance. Visitors in applicable US states can use Google's privacy choice link on the rules guide when it appears. Google explains its advertising data practices in its Advertising Privacy & Terms.

Service providers and contact

Supabase hosts game data, and Google provides Analytics and AdSense. We do not provide a player account or an in-game deletion control. To ask about information you submitted, contact GarfDev. Do not include a room token or other private information in a public GitHub post.
